Plett’s storm of ’82

Who remembers the big storm of ’82 that hit Plett? It caused a flood that tore boats from their Angling Club moorings, uprooted huge trees, deposited them on the shore outside the river mouth, and whipped up a layer of foam that stood knee deep for days on Lookout beach.

This two minute home movie from Chris Morris’s 8mm cine camera delivers a nostalgic reminder of the days following the spectacular event.
